Come to Dublin and stay in a hotel owned by real life rock stars. Not any obscure rock stars either, because The Clarence is the pet project of Bono and The Edge of Irish rock group U2. As you would expect of a hotel with such a pedigree, the Clarence is lavish, it is as comfortable as a cocoon and it is very chilled. Location
 The Clarence is located on the South Bank of the River Liffey, opposite Grattan Bridge. One side of the hotel enjoys views over the Liffey, the other side overlooks Dublin’s cultural quarter Temple Bar. Step out of the hotel’s main entrance and you find yourself opposite the Project Arts Centre, one of Dublin’s hippest theatres. A five minutes’ stroll over cobbled lanes brings you to the Temple Bar Market, the Irish Film Institute and the Button Factory music venue and nightclub. Dublin Castle is a few minutes’ walk up the hill. Step out the riverside entrance of the Clarence and the banks of the River Liffey invite you for a stroll.
Room Rates At The Clarence
Standard doubles with king size bed overlooking either Temple Bar or the hotel’s inner courtyard start from €179.00 per room per night, excluding breakfast. Full Irish breakfast for two is available from €39.00 for two persons when booked ahead together with the room. Suites with river view start from €439.00 per night. The split level Penthouse takes up the 5th and 6th floors of the hotel offering great city views from its outdoor Hot Tub. On the ground floor you have a Living Room with a peat burning stove and dining space for up to 8. On the second level you have the Gallery Bar and Lounge with a Baby Grand Piano. All this comes with a relatively modest €1,500.00 price tag per night. A smaller suite with a private rooftop garden is available from €489.00 per night.
Meeting And Function Rooms
The Clarence has five stylish meeting rooms which can accommodate between 8 and 120 delegates. Full day delegate packages are available from €69.00 per person and include room hire, audiovisual equipment, morning and afternoon teas and coffees with home baked pastries and a two course working lunch. Executive packages include a three course lunch at the Tea Room restaurant and a drinks reception in the Octagon bar at the close of the event. Prices start from €130.00 per head.
Facilities
The Tea Room restaurant at the Clarence is member of the Good Food Ireland alliance and specialises in local Irish produce, much of which is organic. Most bread and other bakery goods are baked on the premises and are very good. The Clarence also features a fitness room and a small massage and beauty treatments room.
